PM Democracy has no common standards, only sports have a common standard

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen said that only sports have a common standard and democracy, human rights, and politics have no common standards.

He said this at a meeting and recommended it to the athletes before going to the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam.

"Democracy, human rights, etc. do not have international standards because they have different points," he said.

He said in the case of paternal democracies, they apply different standards, with more than 40% of the population voting for the presidency, because we see more than 70% of the population going to the polls, only half of them voting for the winner, which is only about 40%.

He added that in France, if not more than 50% cannot be president, so you have to do two rounds. In the first round, if more than 50% plus one vote is not found, the second round is voted on by the first and second place winners.

"Democracy does not work the same way, some countries adopt a presidential regime, some parliamentary regimes, a presidential regime, power over the president, parliamentary power over the prime minister," he said.

He stated: "Must know its system I say this, we share to who that do not know but pretend as they know."
